Martin Family Tree

My ancestors on my Dad's side came from Germany and settled in St Wendel, IN. I've traced my family back to Schondra, Germany with help from Suzanna Martin and Doretha Spahn. I was able to go back as far as Johannes Martin, born around 1690. Below is a small outline showing my bloodline and some family history.

My  Great, Great, Great, Great Grandpa Michael Martin was born  in 1780. He and his wife Elizabetha Wehner had 7 children. Their 4th child Johan Adam Martin came to America in 1839. Johan and his wife Elizabeth "Spahn" and son Bonaventure arrived in New York. They made their way to Ohio where he worked as a farmhand  on the outskirts of Cincinnati. They had 2 more sons "John M and Andrew" born in Ohio. They moved to St Wendel, IN and bought land off Boonville New Harmony Rd; which is Ted Martin's old home place. Their 4th child Mary was born in St Wendel, IN in 1846.

Eventually their 1st son Bonaventure married and bought land off St Wendel Rd. Their 2nd son John M married and bought land on Buente Rd. Their 3rd son Andrew took over the farm after his dad Johan died. Their 4th child Mary married Charles J. Straub.

My blood line follows Johan’s 2nd son “John M ” who bought the land on Buente Rd . John M is my Great, Great Grandpa. When he died his 1st son who is my Great Grandpa Andrew J Martin took over the farm. After Andrew became ill. Andrew's 5th child my Grandpa Albert Martin took over the farm. My Dad's brother Kenneth bought the farm from Grandpa Albert and still farms it today along with his son Jason.

My Grandparents Albert G and Viola M "Fehrenbacher" Martin had 9 children. Their oldest is my Dad, Frederick G Martin. He married Sally R "Waters" Martin and they had 7 children. I'm their 3rd child and I married Kimberly A "Beyer" Martin. We have 2 girls, Brandi N and Ashley R Martin. Brandi married Christopher A Barefoot and they have 2 sons, Aiden M and Nolan A Barefoot.
